Current events

In September 2025, I started working in my new office at the old municipal building in Perniö, which is run by the Pro Perniö cooperative. It's nice to be in the house! 

In October 2025, I will participate as an invited guest at the Idurika illustration event in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Basque Country. The program will be finalized during the fall. https://www.irudika.eus/en

In July 2025, I participated in Del LaGrace Volcano's Queer Bodies photography course at the Liminka Art School. The main focus of the course was on representing queer bodies and the techniques of photography. 

In March 2025, I spent two weeks at the Hedlandet residency in Torna Hällestad, Skåne. I worked on my upcoming graphic novel and spent time with my colleagues. Skåne was beautiful and peaceful, and the residency was a success, as I accomplished twice as much as I usually do in two weeks. 

The Helsinki Central Library Oodi is celebrating Comic-themed Imagine Week from September 8th to 14th. I will be part of the program, leading a discussion on the creation processes of graphic novels with Juliana Hyrr and Kimmo Lust on Wednesday, September 10th, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

As of the beginning of March 2025, my annual grant from the Finnish Cultural Foundation (SKR) came to an end, and I will continue working on the same book project with a year-long grant from the Kordelin Foundation. I am working on an autobiographical graphic novel tentatively titled Kielot, which tells the story of the oppressive atmosphere in the school of factory workers' children, the 1990s, and friendship.

In November 2024, the Oodi Library named me the Writer of the Year 2024. With this title, I will be involved in various activities at Oodi throughout 2025. At least book recommendations and workshops are on the agenda.
